These classes are designed for providers/parents dealing with the many facets of children at each development level (1 year olds, 2 year olds, 3 year olds, etc.).

Understanding them and techniques to dispel them.
Changing Brains (3 to 4 hrs.):
A DVD designed and developed at the U of O describes and demonstrates the effects of a child’s experiences on their brain development (infants/young children) There are 9 segments describing each area of a child’s brain development.
Children and the Importance of Play (3 to 4 hrs.):
Learn the critical role of children’s play, effective ways to encourage it and how to talk to parents about the values play provides in their child’s development,
Stanley Greenspan’s: “Floor Time Video” (3 to 4 hrs.):
In this class, we will discover ways to connect, validate, understand & build rapport using these concepts with infants & young children. After viewing the video, we will explore in small groups, effective ways to best put them into action. We will bring all ideas back to the table for in-depth sharing.

The unique issues of adoptive children and ways adults can help address these needs.

Self-care is a terrific practice for everyone to do! Specific actions and effective decision making skills can make self-care happen.

Help classroom volunteers to be successful. Ways teachers can facilitate their interests/skills.
Meeting Magic (3 hrs.):
Exploring ways to effectively plan / facilitate meetings. Teach ways to enhance listening skills so program directors & staff can have successful meetings.
